Improving Days
Today was something of a better day. I’m able to take in deep breaths now; while it still hurts to do so, it’s relatively tolerable. It’s odd the things you realize you take for granted once you don’t have them. Deep breathing is a wonderful thing.
I finished another paracord bracelet today. I was trying out a pattern I’d never done before, and I had a doozy of a time trying to figure out how it went. After much ripping out and starting over, I finally succeeded in making a nice-looking bracelet. I was happy.
Speaking of bracelets, I made my first leather bracelet this past Monday. I stamped it with four images of the skull and crossbones, dyed it red, and then put sealant on it. I was proud of myself.
I think I’m in a good place of zen regarding my university alma mater now. At least I’m speaking the name out loud now, which is something I haven’t done in years. 🌞

Frustrated
Does it seem like, no matter how bad you feel or how many questions you have about your health, some doctors really don’t want to take the time to explain what’s going on? That happened at my appointment today. Granted, I wasn’t seeing my usual doctor, but the one I saw kept giving me all sorts of platitudes like “Oh everyone has hiatal hernias, blah, blah, blah.” The whole visit was pretty much a waste of my time, because none of my concerns were addresses to my satisfaction. It was just a bunch of gaslighting.
I found out something else while reading the doctor’s notes re: the CTA scan I got a couple nights ago. All I have to say is…someone up above really doesn’t want me to have kids.
I hate the medical field sometimes.

Sorry for not updating in a couple of days. I’ve been in and out of the Emergency Room with excruciating abdominal pain. So far what I’ve been told is:
a.) I have a hiatal hernia (part of my stomach is bulging through my diaphraghm).
b.) I have an enlarged spleen.
c.) I have a cyst on my left ovary.
And yet they had no problem sending me home even with all this going on. Are you kidding me? 😡 At least I’ll know who to sue should I get crazy sick in the future.
My Independence Day was nothing to write home about. I just wasn’t into it this year for some reason. Oh well.
My birthday is this coming Saturday. I’ll be 46…yippee skippee.
Anyway, good night. ❤️

A grievance
Begin rant.
I try not to rant and rave about a whole lot of things—positivity goes much further than negativity any day—but I honestly wish Johnny Depp would find a new lady love soon. Some of his female fans gave gotten so cringe with their fandom. Come on, man…I like him too, but I’m not about to delude myself into thinking that I will ever meet him in real life. It just isn’t going to happen.
I admit, I used to fangirl like this. That was back when I was 12 years old, though. 12 years old! I’ll be 46 this month, I’m over that. I’ve been over it. To see these 50-something women salivating and squealing and getting off to pictures of him is really, really embarrassing. Get a freaking grip, ladies. Have some respect for yourselves.

Another Sunday
Good morning, everyone. Happy Sunday!
Welp…church this morning, and then probably another little while trying to slog through the book I’m reading for my book club. I’m hoping it gets better soon because reading about rivers getting dammed up gets boring very quickly. 😩 I’m hoping there’s a point to it all, but right now I’m not so sure.
Anyway, it’s time for me to grab some breakfast. Later, all.

Morning thoughts
So…funeral today. Well, I say “funeral,” but Mom and I are going to pay respects at the funeral home. We won’t be able to go to the cemetery because of prior obligations. Either way, this year has held a lot more death than I really wanted to deal with. 😕
Can someone tell me how one gains 20 pounds overnight? I’m really not sure how that works, especially considering I’ve really, really been trying to lose weight after my surgery. Blah.
Anyhoo, I’m hoping to get a glance at the beach today, since the wake is being held in Gulfport. As much as I’d love to walk in the sand and get my toes wet at the water’s edge, I don’t fancy walking in sand that has a temperature of no less than 100 degrees. I might as well be walking on hot coals.
Oh yes! Muffuletta pizza for lunch today! I am so ready for it.
“Hell Fest” is on, and I must watch it. Have a great day, everyone!
Edit: I did spend a few minutes at the beach today with my toes in the water, which was very warm, by the way. And the sand wasn’t nearly as horrid as I thought it was going to be. 😊
